Fresh Start Surgical Gifts received a generous $25,000 donation from the Vons Companies Charitable Foundation, Inc. The money will help sponsor an upcoming Surgery Weekend.
Fresh Start's Development Director, Stephanie Alband, reported that a few Vons Companies Charitable Foundation board members came together to adopt a Fresh Start Surgical weekend, July 29 and 30.
Fresh Start Surgical Gifts has provided over $12,000,000 of free reconstructive surgery and related medical services primarily to children who suffer from physical deformities caused by birth defects, accidents, abuse, or disease. Fresh Start is also one of the few non-profits of its kind to serve U.S.-based patients.
The Vons Companies Charitable Foundation, Inc. is supported through a voluntary Employee Donation Program. Funds are contributed to the Foundation through regular payroll deductions. The goal of the Foundation is to give back to the communities that the Vons markets serve. Vons' employees are surveyed to determine what causes would mean the most to them to support.
