The Ambassador Committee is comprised of a fun and energetic group of people who are dedicated to helping spread the word about the Carlsbad Chamber of Commerce and its members.
Additionally, the committee helps members acclimate to the programs the chamber has to offer. Last December, the ambassadors were named Committee of the Year.
The mission of the committee is to utilize its public relations, education and networking capabilities to maximize membership.
The ambassadors assist new members and new employees of existing members to swiftly help them become familiar with the networking, training workshops and myriad of benefits the chamber has to offer.
Ambassadors attend ribbon cuttings to help promote new businesses. They call new members to invite them to the Newcomers Social at their first Sundowner.
At the monthly Sundowners, you will find this committee working at the admission table, selling raffle tickets, greeting attendees and serving refreshments and drinks. They help with retention by checking in with new members during their first year of membership.
Being an ambassador also is a great way to connect with businesses you can use or who are power partners of your own business. Currently, there are approximately 25 active ambassadors.
The committee meets from 7:30 to 8:30 a.m. on the first Thursday of every month at the chamber, 5934 Priestly Drive, Carlsbad. Committee Chair Melissa Stimson and Staff Liaison Bev Jorgensen welcome any chamber member to join or visit the committee.
If you would like more information on the ambassadors and their role with the chamber, e-mail Bev Jorgensen at [email protected] or call her at (760) 931-8400.
