Study Depot helps students go the "extra mile"
Study Depot Tutoring Service announced the winners of the third annual Study Depot "Extra Mile" College Scholarship Competition. The $500 scholarships were presented to three students who demonstrated excellence in mathematics, writing, and a combination of academics, community service and leadership. The awards were made available through the fundraising efforts of Study Depot owners Colleen and David Christopher, and their sponsorship of the 2005 Carlsbad Marathon.
This year's outstanding recipients are Madeline Kramer (Merit Scholarship) from Sante Fe Christian School, who will be attending UC Berkeley as a mathematical and statistical engineering major; Robert Curd (Mathematics Scholarship) from La Costa Canyon High School, who will be studying bio-medical engineering at UC Irvine and Allen Chung (Writing Scholarship) from the Army and Navy Academy, who is on his way to West Point.
