Taking a walk around the block in the Village
Carlsbad Chamber of Commerce staff recently spent the morning talking to shoppers on Grand Avenue between State Street and Roosevelt. Surprisingly, we ran into more locals than tourists. Here's what they had to say about patronizing the Village.

Cindy Cason, Carlsbad
"I am out spending a day with the girls. We had breakfast at Don's Country Kitchen and now we are wandering through the shops. It's very unique down here; it's not at all like the mall."

Barbara and Joe Bevis, Carlsbad
"We are here picking up our passport photos from 550 Photo. We love the Village atmosphere. It's a small, family atmosphere and we always bring our guests down here. We just brought people here from Pasadena."

Jim, Elba, Anthony and Billy Castelli, Carlsbad
"We came down to the Carlsbad Village Coin Shop because the kids collect coins. It's not stuffy down here, it's a fun place where you are unrushed."

Shasha, Madrid and Moorea Walker, Phoenix
"I grew up in Carlsbad and we rent a home here every summer for three weeks. The shops are fun, I just did some damage at Madison's."

Keep an eye out for Chamber staff scouring the Village for eager visitors. Make sure you say hello and tell us why you enjoy downtown Carlsbad.
