Misti Cain, one of the newest additions to the rapidly growing staff at the Carlsbad Chamber of Commerce, has assumed the position as their director of communications.
As the communications director, Misti's primary function will be editor of the Carlsbad Business Journal, their award-winning 24-page monthly newsletter. She will also be responsible for co-producing the Chamber's weekly television show, North County Business in Focus; assisting with marketing and public relations efforts and serving as the Chamber's media liaison.
Misti was previously employed as the copywriter and public relations associate for an in-house advertising agency at Valley View Casino. Since moving to San Diego County in 2003, she has done freelance work for NORTH Magazine, K&K Publications and North County Times. While in college, Misti worked on the college newspaper as the editor-in-chief of its opinion page.
Misti, a former cellist with the Kings Symphony, is an avid performing arts lover who enjoys all types of music, dance and drama. Three life goals she hopes to accomplish are starring or at least notably appearing in a film or TV show, publishing a novel and owning a business of her own. Her interests include writing, film and food. Misti said she is excited about her new role with the Chamber and the opportunity to connect with the community.
