On Thursday, January 19, the Carlsbad Chamber of Commerce held their annual An Evening With…hosted by LEGOLAND, California in their sports caf?.
An invitation-only event, An Evening With… provides an opportunity to bring together Chamber of Commerce Board members with business and civic leaders for the purpose of welcoming new and significant business and civic leaders to the community. The event also provides a relaxed atmosphere to allow the parties to mingle together and get to know one another off the clock.
This year's Evening With…was attended by such guests as LEGOLAND President, John Jakobsen; Chief Executive Officer of Merlin Entertainment Group, Nick Varney; Mayor Pro Temp, Matt Hall; General Manager and Regional Vice President of Four Seasons Resort Aviara, Robert Cima; Chairman of the Board, Tim Stripe also of Grand Pacific Resorts, Inc. and many others. Total attendance was a little over 100.
The guests of honor for the evening were Robert Cima and Nick Varney. Cima is the new General Manager of the Four Seasons Resort Aviara; having been with the Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts chain for over twenty years. He has managed them around the world from the Ritz-Carlton in Chicago to the Four Seasons in London and Maui as well as the Clift Hotel in San Francisco. In his new position, Cima will be responsible for the Four Seasons Resort Aviara, Four Seasons Resort Scottsdale, Four Seasons Resort New York and Four Seasons Resort Santa Barbara.
Varney received recognition as well due to the fact that the event's host, LEGOLAND, California, was introducing Merlin Entertainment Group as their new parent company.
A wonderful reception, complete with full hors d'oeuvres and cocktails, preceded and concluded the evening.
