2017 Annual Servant Leadership Conference – March 13-14 Presented by Servant Leadership Institute in San Diego
By Carol Malinski Servant Leadership Institute For the past six years, the Servant Leadership Institute has presented servant leadership conferences that feature world-class thought leaders and presenters focused on telling the story of servant leadership. 2017 will be no exception, as SLI presents, “The Music of Servant Leadership,” March 13-14, 2017. The goal of every leader is to create a beautiful melody in the workplace, and with servant leadership that becomes possible as leaders take employees’ strengths and weaknesses and help them find their beat to work in harmony. SLI invites you to listen, learn, and practice so you can orchestrate the change necessary to help your team find its song and achieve results that are simply extraordinary. In recent months, we have been working on a project to rebrand SLI. Soon, we will be launching a new website intended to inspire and equip you to lead in an uncommon way, by putting others first. We are creating a site where you will feel at home, a place that will stimulate reflection as well as interaction. One change often leads to another, so we realized our logo was due for a change as well. Our new logo will be symbolized by the upside down organizational chart that is key to the tenets of servant leadership. In the traditional organizational chart, the leader is at the top and all the people serve him or her, thus the leader has no one to serve. But, flip that org chart upside down and the leader is now below everyone else and has a multitude of people to serve. “We’re excited about SLI’s new look, and New Year ahead,” said Robin Swift, SLI President. “It is super rewarding to see the servant leadership movement growing throughout the world; we always strive to raise the bar and lead the way.” We are busy making these changes a reality, so be on the lookout for a new look and feel from SLI, inspiring and equipping those we influence to lead from their hearts and discover no limits.
