The Carlsbad Chamber is pleased to have a Western Association of Chamber Executives (W.A.C.E.) Academy graduate on their staff. Congratulations to Toni Padron, the Carlsbad Chamber's Executive Vice President, for her matriculation.

The W.A.C.E. Academy is a three-year high quality program on chamber management "essentials" geared for today's chamber executives and professional staff. Each year one three day session is held to educate professional businesspersons on Chamber fundamentals. This year, the first group of Academy "students" graduated from the program which began in the summer of 2003.

"WACE Academy is everything it claimed it would be and much, more," says Padron. "This three year program provides the tools that make each day easier. The faculty was outstanding; their level of experience and expertise gave me all the ingredients needed to build stronger more confident professionals in our industry. "

Padron received her diploma last month while attending the W.A.C.E. Conference. While attending the three-day conference she also accepted several awards on behalf of the Carlsbad Chamber for their Business Success Center, Carlsbad Business Journal publication and website.

"Academy is a program for staff professionals who aspire to someday run their own chamber, those are the people that should most definitely attend," Padron comments. "For those already at the helm of our chambers I believe it is an opportunity to learn, grow and make long term friends. There is nothing that helps us grow and be the best that we can be than the support of our colleagues."

Padron concludes by saying the entire Academy experience, the faculty and, most of all, her fellow classmates were all priceless.
