Henry's Farmers Market, known for fresh produce and natural foods in San Diego County for more than 60 years, recently celebrated the opening of their all-new prototype store in Carlsbad on March 1.

The 30,000-square-foot store, the biggest Henry's ever, features expanded departments, an extensive demonstration area for upcoming cooking presentations and healthy living lectures within the store.

To kick off the grand opening festivities, Henry's hosted a neighborhood block party in the store's parking lot on Feb. 28, where over 1,000 community residents enjoyed a "sneak peak" at the store, along with music, a vast array of free food samples and kids' carnival games and prizes.

On grand opening day, the ribbon cutting took place at 8 a.m. with the honorable Matthew Hall, the city of Carlsbad's mayor pro tem. The first 200 customers in line received a free bag of groceries. Grand opening day sales were the highest in Henry's history.

The new store is located in Los Coches Village at 3243 Camino de los Coches Road in Carlsbad.
