The Carlsbad Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors issued a recent statement in favor of the Tri City Medical Center $596 million hospital renovation bond.

This renovation bond is for the purpose of modernizing and upgrading the center's facilities. Because Tri City was planned in the late 1950's and built in 1961, the original building and foundation will be over 50 years old by 2013. This limits Tri City from meeting current standards.

The Carlsbad Chamber of Commerce Board feels strongly that this bond is a positive, and much needed, move for the North County medical center.
