When people call your business do they hear, “I’m on the phone or away from my desk"? How many times have you heard this same message when calling other businesses?

Despite the high use of email the phone still remains a critical tool in conducting business and building relationships. However, many business people haven't harnessed the power of recording timely, complete and informative voice mail announcements and messages. Nor are they completely comfortable conducting friendly, but focused phone conversations and collecting critical information quickly. Both of these skills are especially important with home-based business, which must consistently project a professional image to existing and potential clients.

With over 30 years of total business experience, 20 years in sales and service with AT&T and the Bell Operating Companies, and many years as a call center consultant and trainer, Dee Sanford has heard and participated in the gamut of phone messages and conversations, from awful to awesome! At the June 2 First Friday Breakfast, Dee will share solid tips on using the phone to your distinct advantage.

Her unique and solid blend of business experience, wisdom, and personal and professional development coaching, has educated and inspired audiences all over the US, and in Canada, Brazil, Holland, Germany, Mexico, and Africa.

She’s hosted and produced The Christian Business Forum TV Interview show for six years, and founded and continues to operate two women's business networking organizations since 1997. Dee also helped introduce voice mail technology during her years with AT&T and has taught thousands of call center agents, supervisors and business people how to communicate more effectively and do more business by phone.

The June 2 First Friday Breakfast will be held from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. at Windmill Banquet & Catering, located at 890 Palomar Airport Road. The cost of the breakfast is $25 for Chamber members and $35 for prospective members registered by May 26. After May 26 and at the door, registration is $40 and seating is available on a first-come, first-served basis.
