A pat on the back to Chamber member, Gil Evans of Vision Capital, for coming through with financing for a local chamber member.

The member is a large printing company in Carlsbad that was seeking financing for the growth of their business but had been turned down by their bank. Not knowing where to turn, they contacted the Chamber's Small Business Success Center for counseling.

The member was directed to the Small Business Financing Workshop, where they met Evans who specializes in equipment leasing and financing. In addition, field counseling was arranged with SCORE volunteers to help assess the overall business issues. The field counselors worked with Evans to secure financing in the amount of $49,000 and Vision Capital was willing to take a 2nd lien position on business assets behind the bank. The credit request was approved without the member having to supply financial information based upon a minimum (5) years in business and a satisfactory personal score for the principal owner.

Chamber members are encouraged to contact the Chamber for financing referrals and counseling. The next Small Business Financing Workshop is on Wednesday, July 26, 8:00, 10:00 a.m. Go to www.carlsbad.org or call Andrea Korogi at (760) 931-8400 for more information.
