Over 600 people attended the multi-chamber mixer last month, hailed as one of the best and largest networking events of the year.
The Carlsbad, Oceanside, Vista and San Marcos Chambers joined together on Thursday, July 20 to present their third annual North County Sundowner hosted by Tri-City Medical Center (TCMC). The event was held in the Assembly Rooms at Tri-City Medical Center, located at 4002 Vista Way, in Oceanside.
Attendees included the CEOs from all four chambers; Tri-City President and CEO, Arthur Gonzales; Tri-City Director of Marketing, Sonia Ryan; Tri-City Director of Community Relations, Jeff Segall; 40 volunteers from each chamber's ambassador committees and public officials from each city. The Carlsbad Chamber also employed two marines courtesy of HireMarines.com to assist with preparations for the event.
Networking hallmarked this not-to-be-missed event however, that was only icing on the cake, literally. The Medical Center, celebrating its 45th birthday, provided the delicious, gourmet cuisine and beautiful displays for the evening. The fare included a fresh seafood display, select carving stations, international food stations with made-to-order delectable entrees, homemade delicacies and of course a layered birthday cake. A beautiful ice sculpture was the centerpiece of the d?cor.
In addition to receiving business contacts and lots of networking opportunities, guests were also able to enter into raffle drawings for extravagant gift baskets worth over $1,000. The admission price was only $10 for both members and prospective members.
In 1952, representatives of the Carlsbad, Oceanside and Vista Chambers of Commerce identified a need for a modern local hospital. These three separate and distinct chambers joined together in 1955 to form the Tri-City Hospital Association to oversee and coordinate the formation of the Tri-City Hospital District. Tri-City Hospital opened on July 16, 1961. Tri-City Medical Center's alliance with the chambers has spanned a time period of 54 years.
