Premier Jet, a full-service flight support company and one of McClellan-Palomar Airport's fixed based operators (FBO), has just completed $33 million in renovation on the jet center resulting in a beautiful new airport space. This renovation comes on the heels of two years of construction and debate surrounding small plane space.

Premier Jet prides itself on being able to provide the business or private aviator the tools to execute any flight. Their flight support includes complete line service, aircraft fueling, detailing, flight planning, weather status, flight following, communication services and more.

Palomar Airport, where Premier operates, is the gateway to and from San Diego’s North County, serving the general aviation community, corporate aircraft and commercial services.

"Many years ago, this started as a single-family, mom-and-pop FBO," said Premier Jet President Richard Sax. "The real estate boom in North San Diego County was growing tremendously, so the needs of the aviation community were growing very rapidly."

Sax attributes the new digs to "the growing need for corporate and transient aircraft space."

The new and improved jet center includes 19 hangars totaling 140,000 square feet of hangar space which can house small jets, turbine props and large corporate aircraft. The facility also comes complete with 14 offices that cover 60,000 square feet.

Aviation executives said they have sold about 90 percent of the jet center's hangar and office space, which is being funded through 30-year prepaid lease agreements.
San Diego-based Schubach Aviation signed a ten-year lease agreement for second-floor office space that will become its new headquarters. The office space encompasses four private offices and a pilot's dispatch area.

Premier Jet held a reception on July 13 to break bread with the community and officially unveil their unbelievably elegant new airport space. For more information about their upgraded facility please call (760) 930-0123.
