The Carlsbad Chamber of Commerce's Technology Committee will be presenting an interactive VoIP demonstration on August 15 from 7:30am to 9:00am with the purpose of educating interested parties about this dynamic new technology. The demonstration will be conducted by Netcom America.

What is VoIP?
VoIP is an acronym for Voice over the Internet Protocol. When the Internet is connected over broadband (DSL or faster) VoIP converts the voice signal from your telephone into a digital signal that travels over the internet. It then converts the signal back at the other end so you can speak to anyone with a regular phone number.

Twelve percent of businesses have already deployed VoIP and another 29 percent are likely to do so this year, according to a new Harris Interactive survey. Join the Technology Committee in learning how you can incorporate this innovative data into your business practices.
