The 2nd annual San Diego County Credit Union Poinsettia Bowl kicks off at 5 p.m., Tuesday, December 19 at Qualcomm Stadium. The Poinsettia Bowl will match a top team from the Mountain West Conference against an at-large opponent.
The selected beneficiary of the San Diego County Credit Union Poinsettia Bowl is the Make-A-Wish foundation of San Diego. For each game ticket sold, $1 will go directly to Make-A-Wish to grant wishes for children who are battling life-threatening medical conditions.
For example, Wish Kids will serve as honorary captains, flip the coin and sing the national anthem. Further still, thousands of Wish Kids and their families will be in attendance, enjoy a pre-game tailgate party, receive souvenir sweatshirts and march in the pre-game show.
The bowl game will be complete with a 3-day long festival of events including Team Days at the Zoo or Sea World, and a Team Luncheon on board the USS Midway Aircraft Carrier Museum. The San Diego County Credit Union Poinsettia Bowl promises to follow in the footsteps of the Holiday Bowl as another annual San Diego college football classic!
The bowl game's slogan is "Bring the Family" and in accordance with this, the bowl is offering a Family 4-Pack. For $100, families receive four view level sideline tickets, four hotdogs, four sodas and an official souvenir game program.
