The restaurant arm of Red Dahlia's multifaceted operation closed to the public the first Saturday in August. In its stead, owners, Sean and Juliana Firtel will continue operating Red Dahlia's popular Supper Club, as well as step up the catering side of the business.
This announcement, that the restaurant no longer will offer lunch and dinner services, came nine months after lighting up the Carlsbad scene with a dynamic dining option.
Julianna spoke for the couple, "We are thrilled about the glowing reviews and generous feedback we've received and are blown away by the consistent full house we've cooked for. Unfortunately, our limited Carlsbad location has not allowed us to showcase Sean's fine dining repertoire as we'd like."
Julianna Firtel, who already directs Red Dahlia's successful catering business, will expand services immediately, hosting private dinner parties and events and offering up their La Costa location as a private venue.
It was confirmed that the inspired couple will search for a new restaurant space somewhere in the San Diego vicinity. Chef Sean Firtel says that he hopes to find a location that can accommodate more diners as well as allow him to focus on and showcase his talents for fine dining.
Until the new restaurant is up and running, Red Dahlia's Supper Club, which premiered to a packed house this past January and has been a hit ever since, will resume its usual pace on Saturday, October 7. The concept, a modern reinvention of the American jazz club, aims for a distinctly unique dining experience.
The first Saturday night Supper Club features a prix-fixe tasting menu at $85 dollars per guest as well as an optional vegetarian tasting menu. The menus, number of courses and prices will vary each month.
Red Dahlia is located in the La Costa Towne Center at 7740 El Camino Real, Suite F, in Carlsbad. The Supper Club is open the first Saturday of each month by reservation only. There will be two seatings at 6 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. Red Dahlia is also available for private groups, dinner parties and events.
