Celebrate St. Patrick's Day by being truly green, attend the Carlsbad Chamber's Business is Green Expo March 17.
The event will take place from 2 to 6 p.m. at Windmill Banquet & Catering, 890 Palomar Airport Road, Carlsbad.
The expo will feature a green business showcase where organizations and companies, including Hudnut Co. and Domeier Architects, will exhibit their eco-friendly products and services. It also will include an environmental film festival, a green car show and an eco education and job resource fair.
In partnership with E-World Recyclers and Pacific Ridge School, there will be a free electronic waste drop-off area in the parking lot. E-waste includes computers, televisions, fax machines, copiers, cameras, MP3 players, stereo systems and more.
E-World Recyclers will donate 100 percent of the proceeds it receives for the recycled items to three local non-profit organizations, Harvest for Humanity, Military Outreach Ministry and Nile Sisters.
A Sundowner will be held in conjunction with the event from 5 to 6 p.m. The Sundowner will include food, green beer and lots of networking.
The chamber is offering free admission to attendees who wear green or bring e-waste to be recycled. Otherwise, admission is $5 per person at the door.
Interested exhibitors must register by March 1. Booths, which include a skirted table, two chairs and electricity, are available for $99 for Carlsbad Chamber members and $399 for prospective members.
The event sponsors include Holiday Inn Carlsbad-by-the-Sea, T.G.I. Fridays and Windmill Banquet & Catering.
To register, visit www.carlsbad.org and click on the “Events” tab on the top of the homepage, then click on “Annual Events” and then click on “Business is Green Expo.” For more information, contact Deveney Gibbons, the chamber's member services manager, at (760) 931-8400 or [email protected].
