Carlsbad wants Google to bring its big gigabit network to the city. The innovative network is proposed to be up to 100 times faster than current home Internet connections.
The project would enhance the overall quality of life for Carlsbad residents through the distribution of numerous digital services. Additionally, the network would be a resource to the business community, especially for companies that have high bandwidth communication requirements.
That's why Google needs to hear from the Carlsbad community.
The most important thing community members can do to bring the Google gigabit network to Carlsbad is to complete the Google nomination form.
How to nominate Carlsbad:
• To nominate Carlsbad, create a Google account. It's free, and it only takes a minute.
• Once a Google account is created or if logging in with an existing account, complete the nomination form. There are a lot of questions on the form, but other than name, city and state, only one question is required: “Why should Google build a fiber to the home network where you live?” Answer as many of the other questions as possible.
Once a nomination form to Google is submitted, the nomination is complete. Pass the word along to friends, family and the Carlsbad community, because the more nominations submitted for Carlsbad, the more likely Google will realize that Carlsbad is the right community for its new network.
