Swing into the New Year by attending the Carlsbad Chamber of Commerce's Sundowner hosted at The Crossings at Carlsbad from 5 to 7 p.m. Jan. 16.
The Crossings at Carlsbad, 5800 The Crossings Drive, is the city's newest amenity and a “must-play” golf experience for those seeking a challenging, risk-reward golf adventure. The Crossings features a state-of-the-art practice center that is illuminated at night, new tee-line technology, a clubhouse and Canyons, a full-service restaurant that serves gourmet breakfast and lunch cuisine everyday.
The facility also includes a chipping area, putting green and practice sand bunker. Non-golfers can enjoy amenities like the three-mile walking path that was created for fitness buffs and the more than 60 acres of land that was restored as natural habitat.
The $63.3 million 18-hole golf course opened to the public in August. It sits on 400 acres and is available for private parties and special events.
Green fees include the use of a golf cart equipped with global positioning system, or GPS, technology. The GPS display shows the distance to a hole from wherever the golfer's cart is positioned and the location of other golf carts, along with tips specific to each of the 18 holes.
The course is located about one mile east of Interstate 5, and can be accessed from Palomar Airport Road via The Crossings Drive. For more information about The Crossings, visit www.thecrossingsatcarlsbad.com.
Join the chamber for its first Sundowner of the New Year, which will be sure to please with plenty of food, drinks, raffle prizes and lots of networking! Admission is $5 for chamber members and $15 for prospective members.
The chamber would like to thank those companies that donated raffle prizes for the December Sundowner at Grand Pacific Palisades Resort & Hotel.
For more information or to donate a raffle prize, call Bev Jorgensen, the chamber's director of corporate relations and member services, at (760) 931-8400 or e-mail her at
