There is still development moving forward in the Carlsbad Village area, and we are very excited. The following is an update on a few of the development projects under construction.
Construction on a new commercial, mixed-use building is nearing completion at 2917 State St., between Carlsbad Village Drive and Grand Avenue. This new building will expand the existing retail and office space opportunities on the block and enhance the appearance of the downtown area. This project includes 3,296 square feet of retail space on the first floor and 2,876 square feet of office space on the second floor.
Site grading is complete and building permits will soon be issued for the new Roosevelt Center development. This new mixed-use project is located at 560 and 562 Carlsbad Village Drive. The project will include 2,410 square feet of retail space, 6,502 square feet of office space, an approximately 3,300-square-foot restaurant and two apartment units.
It will provide additional lease space for new businesses, complimenting the existing businesses taking up residence along the streets of the Village.
A new application has been submitted for an exciting new hotel and condo project at 3100 and 3150 Ocean St. The project consists of 39 hotel rooms, 10 market-rate condominiums, two affordable housing units and a 2,815-square-foot rooftop restaurant with spectacular ocean views. This project will soon be going to public hearings before the city's Design Review Board and then the Housing and Redevelopment Commission.
