After years of planning, North County Health Services opened a new, state-of-the-art health center in Oceanside July 13.
NCHS is a nonprofit community health care organization providing services in North County. It annually serves more than 60,000 patients at 11 health centers in Carlsbad, Encinitas, Oceanside, Ramona and San Marcos, and two mobile clinics.
The Oceanside Health Center replaced the NCHS clinic located on Cassidy Street in Oceanside, allowing for an increase in capacity to serve patients. Last year, the Cassidy clinic served 9,318 patients.
“It's important to us that we are accessible to our patients throughout the region,” said Irma Cota, president and CEO of NCHS. “The need for providing low-cost, high-quality comprehensive services will continue to be a priority, and NCHS plans to meet the growing demand for affordable health care by adding additional medical offices, such as this new facility.”
The 12,000-square-foot health center offers pediatrics, obstetrics, adult medicine, mental health and pharmacy and health education services.
“The success story of this major project is built upon the dedication and generosity of countless individuals and community organizations,” Cota said. “Its opening represents the tireless efforts of numerous volunteers, donors, board members and staff throughout a long but exciting capital campaign.”
Interested community and business leaders are invited to visit the new health center. A personal tour can be arranged by calling Dana Withall, fund development director at NCHS, at (760) 533-5980.
