The city and Carlsbad Redevelopment Agency hosted Success in the Village Oct. 28, which included a short documentary and still photography of redevelopment efforts in the area.
Refreshments, including appetizers, were provided by Village businesses in the parking lot at the corner of State Street and Grand Avenue. It was a great party, and we want to sincerely thank all who participated in the celebration of the Village.
For those who have not been to the Village lately, you are encouraged to re-experience it at your earliest convenience, it's a great place to do some holiday shopping. As mentioned in previous articles, there is a surprising and exciting diversity of businesses in the area that you simply need to experience for yourself.
There are a variety of popular restaurants, a wonderful mix of retail stores and many opportunities to enjoy arts and culture, including live theater at the award-winning New Village Arts, as well as several art galleries. For your holiday cooking, you don't want to miss the farmers' market held in the Roosevelt parking lot from 1 to 5 p.m. every Wednesday and Saturday. Shop local, eat fresh, go green.
Don't forget to check out Thursdays on the Coast in the Village. The next fun evening of art gallery tours and cultural activities will take place Nov. 27.
Searching for the perfect holiday gift? Come to the Village and enjoy your shopping experience.
Another reminder: Any interested person can meet in an informal setting to discuss the Village every Thursday at 8 a.m. at the Housing and Redevelopment office, 2965 Roosevelt St. The Village Voices program encourages people to talk about what's new, old, exciting, challenging and more from business and customer perspectives.
If you would like to share your thoughts to help businesses grow and prosper in the area, you are invited to join the dialogue. The Village needs you.
We want to hear what you have to say. Join us in our celebration, and help to continue the revitalization efforts.
