The Carlsbad Chamber would not exist without our members who volunteer their time to assist with the more than 300 meetings and events we hold throughout any given year.
What is a volunteer? According to Webster it is a person who voluntarily offers himself or herself for a service or undertaking; a person who performs a service willingly and without pay. Well, our Chamber is filled with many of these and we like to recognize the many volunteers as much as possible.
The annual Volunteer Recognition Breakfast was held in December at the lovely Hilton Garden Inn, overlooking the ocean. The room was filled with stunning pixie poinsettias donated by the Paul Ecke Ranch. More than 90 Chamber members rallied to await the final announcement for the 2010 Volunteer Recognition awards.
I was so excited to see the faces of each winner and I would like to share with everyone who was recognized at the event:
• Ambassador Committee Member of the Year? Karla Patino, Wells Fargo Home Mortgage
• Armed Services Committee Member of the Year? Tom Bwarie, Bwarie Gift Basket Co.
