Former San Diego State University head basketball coach Steve Fisher recently shared his trials & triumphs with a crowd of more than 170 people at the La Costa Glen retirement community in Carlsbad. Some of the stories he shared range from how he won the NCAA National Championship at the University of Michigan to how he built a winning basketball program at SDSU. Fisher, a longtime friend of La Costa Glen resident Perry Feuer, was the headliner for the community’s ongoing Sports Night series.  Fisher also shared his experience as a guest at the White House after winning the national championship, details of his longtime friendship with UCLA basketball icon John Wooden, and his philosophy on recruiting and mentoring young basketball players. Fisher retired as head basketball coach for San Diego State earlier this year.
