On March 16th, 2018 the Carlsbad Chamber of Commerce celebrated the best businesses in town at the 2018 Annual Business Awards and Board Installation Dinner. More than 250 guests joined the festivities at the Park Hyatt Aviara Resort & Spa.
The theme of the year is RED, WHITE & BUSINESS, which was in full display at the venue.
The Chamber’s CEO, Ted Owen, welcomed all the attendees and was followed by a rendition of the National Anthem performed by Miss Carlsbad 2016 Caitlyn Farlow.
Catherine Garcia, the main evening anchor at NBC 7 San Diego was the master of ceremonies. The Southern California native kicked off the event by introducing the nights honored guests including State Senator Patricia Bates, Carlsbad Mayor Matt Hall, neighboring city mayors, city councilmembers and other high profile state representatives. Similarly, Carlsbad Chamber Past Chairmen of the Board were acknowledged for their service.
Undoubtedly the most exciting part of the night was finally calling out the winners.

With the passing of the gavel from the Immediate Past Chair, Deb Beddoe (Your Ops Manager), to the new Chairman of the Board, Ahmed Haque (NRG Inc.), and the swearing in ceremony led by Carlsbad Mayor Matt Hall, the 2018 Board of Directors was officially installed.
