Take a tour of Camp Pendleton
Coming up early next month is our first Military Affairs Committee (MAC) Tour of Camp Pendleton!
First, how did this committee get started? Not long before the COVID lockdown, the Chamber restarted our Military Affairs Committee, with “Connecting Business to Base” as the headline.
Run by the stellar Executive Director of Veterans Association of North County (VANC), Lori Boody, MAC created the mission “to establish and maintain a strong working relationship with the leadership of Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton and the men and women of the Armed Services while focusing on meaningful partnerships with the active duty, retired military, and veteran community.
And, to expand our outreach and the support provided by the local business community to the military and promote mutually beneficial opportunities that encourage patronizing of the local businesses by the military community.” Pretty awesome!
Finally, after regrouping the committee post-Covid and planning, the first tour is on! On October 3rd at 1230-1600 hours (12:30 – 4 PM) we are getting a personalized tour by Colonel Daniel Whitley, Deputy Commander MCI-West- MCB Camp Pendleton. The tour will be leaving the Carlsbad Chamber promptly at 12:30 PM. The first stop is a tour of Marine Light Attack Helicopter squadron 367 (HMLA).
From there we will be driven to Las Pulgas with a tour of 11th Marines Artillery gun park (Cannons and Howitzers). Followed by our return to Carlsbad Chamber of Commerce.
Tickets are available on web.carlsbad.org/events for $50/person.
There is cutoff for attendees so if you are interested and can make it, be sure to book your ticket today!
