Starting the New Year on the right foot
A new year is the perfect time for business owners to reset goals, strengthen operations, and invest in knowledge that supports their long-term success. Whether you’re launching a new venture or looking to refine and grow an existing business, Carlsbad offers a range of free, accessible resources designed to help you start the year off strong.
From expert-led workshops to one-on-one office hours with City staff, local businesses have direct access to guidance, connections, and resources that make navigating business ownership easier.
Build Knowledge Through Small Business Workshops
In partnership with the City of Carlsbad, the Carlsbad Chamber of Commerce hosts a Small Business Workshop Series designed to provide timely resources and expert-led guidance for local businesses.
These workshops offer tools and strategies to navigate operational needs and support business growth through specialized knowledge and networking opportunities through industry led experts.
Workshops are free and open to all Carlsbad businesses and are offered in person. Space may be limited depending on the session, so businesses are encouraged to register directly through the Chamber of Carlsbad’s event webpage: web.carlsbad.org/atlas/calendar
Small Business Liaison
To further support entrepreneurs and small business owners, the City of Carlsbad has a Small Business Liaison program, which offers a dedicated staff person to help small businesses with access to services and provide personalized, in-person business support.
Whether you’re starting a business, managing day-to-day operations, or navigating city processes for the first time, The Small Business Liaison provides a direct connection to knowledgeable City staff who can help answer questions and connect you with the right resources.
Office Hours
Small Business Liaison Office Hours are offered as 30-minute, one-on-one appointments, with opportunities for both scheduled meetings and drop-ins (when available). The goal is for businesses to leave with a clearer understanding of next steps, relevant contacts, and resources to support their success.
Office Hours are available at several times and locations. Appointments can be booked online at: carlsbadca.gov/business/digital-resource-hub/business-office-hours
Tap Into Actionable Data with the Digital Resource Hub
In addition to workshops and one-on-one support, Carlsbad businesses can take advantage of the City’s Digital Resource Hub, a free, data-driven business intelligence tool designed to help small businesses and entrepreneurs make informed decisions and increase their competitiveness.
The Digital Resource Hub provides industry insights, market data, and high-value analytics that can help businesses identify opportunities, refine strategies, and understand local market conditions.
