Three Carlsbad Chamber members joined together to create a haunted house experience in the Carlsbad Village for the recent Halloween festivities. Reef and their employees volunteered their time and energy to help The Boys & Girls Clubs of Carlsbad build a scary haunted house designed for kids of all ages. “The option of building a haunted house as a volunteer activity is a little out of the norm, and it sounded like it would be a blast!” explained Reef Marketing Coordinator Jackie Hall.  “After our work was done, a few of us stayed after and got to actually play kick ball with the kids. It was so much fun, and we hope to make this project an annual one.” Carlsbad Causes for Community also helped with the experience by organizing activities for the kids after passing through the haunted house. The gym at the Boys & Girls Clubs of Carlsbad was transformed into a fun zone that included a bounce house, face painting, and other fun activities. “It was really cool to see everyone pull together to make this Halloween so special,” said Village Clubhouse Director Andy Purviance. “The haunted house was built by Reef volunteers, Carlsbad High School teens worked as ghouls and witches and other scary characters inside the house, and our staff made it all come together.”
