There were no scrooges allowed at the November Sundowner, held Wednesday at the Sheraton Carlsbad Resort & Spa. “Tis the Season to be Giving the Gift That Keeps on Giving” was the theme of the evening Admission to the networking event was a new toy or blanket. The donations collected will go to the Carlsbad Christmas Bureau Adopt-A-Family Project, which helps needy families in Carlsbad celebrate the holidays. “It was a great success,” said Bev Jorgensen, the Chamber’s vice president of corporate and member services. “People brought lots of unwrapped toys and blankets and do all of the things they expect from a Sundowner: mingle and build relationships. It was a beautiful sunset event and a everyone who donated a toy had a big smile on their face as they walked in.” Though the Sundowner is over, you can still help the Christmas Bureau by stopping at the Chamber (5934 Priestly Drive) and donating a toy, unwrapped gift or non-perishable food. The bin will be collected on Dec. 9. Here’s a little more information about the Christmas Bureau
