The final First Friday Breakfast of 2014 gave the Carlsbad Chamber of Commerce the opportunity to pay tribute to those who contributed to the Chamber’s continued success: its volunteers. Held at the Omni La Costa Resort & Spa’s Poinsettia Room, the First Friday Breakfast had a holiday-tinged feel to it. Each Chamber committee presented a Committee Member of the Year Award. The Chamber also presented a Committee of the Year Award, a Chairperson of the Year Awards and awards for meritorious service and other special awards. “The Chamber is where it is today because of the hard work and dedication of those who give of themselves — not for self interest — but selflessly, because they want to help the Carlsbad Chamber of Commerce forge the future, and maintain Carlsbad’s business community the thriving engine that it has been for decades to come,” said Ted Owen, president and CEO of the Chamber.
