Lee Sterling, who calls himself a “recovering real estate attorney,” has been named Ambassador of the Month by the Carlsbad Chamber of Commerce.
Sterling recently formed Sterling/Stone REALTORS with his wife, Lynn, and Mark Stone, in association with the Richard Realty Group. Sterling is a director of the North San Diego County Association of Realtors and teaches the ethics class for new realtors.
He spent 27 years as a real estate attorney in Colorado. Sterling also helped develop, operate and finance apartment projects and shopping centers in Colorado and Chicago.
During his law career, he wrote for the Colorado Real Estate Journal and had articles published in the Colorado Bar Journal. He taught real estate law for the Colorado Division of Real Estate Continuing Education program and taught Business Law at Regis University.
Sterling came to Carlsbad in 2001 to watch his granddaughters grow up and to form a real estate brokerage company so his clients could benefit from his experience and avoid the problems he had to litigate in defending real estate brokers, sellers and buyers.
Sterling and Stone decided that the current rocky market conditions required a new consulting approach to representing buyers and sellers of properties in San Diego, which prompted them to form their joint venture. By experience and nature, both embrace the concept of consulting with clients instead of using high pressure sales techniques.
Stone is a longtime Carlsbad resident and real estate professional. Since beginning his career more than 20 years ago, Stone has been a multi-year top producer for companies such as California Coastal Properties and Dyson & Dyson.
Sterling can be reached by e-mail at [email protected] or by phone at (760) 230-1492.
