Lupe Hairston, co-owner of Fish Window Cleaning, has been named Ambassador of the Month by the Carlsbad Chamber of Commerce.
Before establishing Fish Window Cleaning in San Marcos, Lupe and her husband, Kolan, were both looking for something that would allow them to stay in Carlsbad since their jobs at the time were going to move them away from the area.
Kolan was a major in the Marine Corps who flew C-130's and was to be stationed in Okinawa, Japan. Lupe was a flight attendant for Delta Airlines for 16 years and was commuting to Los Angeles and would be gone for three days at a time.
Inspired to pursue the American dream, they started looking into owning their own business, which would allow them to stay in Carlsbad, be their own bosses and discover the road to freedom by being entrepreneurs.
