The Carlsbad Library and Arts Foundation will present its fifth annual Castles of Carlsbad 2008 Spring Home Tour from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. May 3.
During the self-guided tour, up to 1,000 ticket holders will stroll through the interiors and grounds of six unique homes located throughout the city. Tour guests will enjoy refreshments on the terrace of one of the homes, raffles for Carlsbad-theme luxury gift baskets and other surprises along the way.
“There is something for everyone to love on this tour; the homes are amazing,” proclaimed Sandy Golnick, chair of the foundation.
A new feature this year will be an elegant Luncheon on the Lawn, catered by Vigilucci's Cucina, will take place at the historic home on the tour. The luncheon tickets are limited and are combined with home tour tickets as a package for $45, or two packages for $80.
“These are excellent, unique gifts for birthdays or early Mother's Day and will sell out quickly,” said Gina McBride, vice president of the foundation.
Home tour tickets are $25 in advance or $30 on the day of the event. Each ticket is a brochure that contains a tour map along with photos and descriptions of each home.
The net proceeds from the tour will benefit the foundation's campaign for the Carlsbad City Library Learning Center. The new center, which is under construction at 3368 Eureka St., will open this summer.
The tickets are available in Carlsbad at the city libraries at 1775 Dove Lane and 1250 Carlsbad Village Drive; the Carlsbad Convention and Visitors Bureau, 400 Carlsbad Village Drive and HomeLife Village Realtors, 500 Grand Ave. Home tour tickets and luncheon packages also are available online at www.castlesofcarlsbad.com.
