Play Minigolf to benefit Carlsbad Library
Carlsbad's Dove library will create a nine-hole mini golf course throughout the building on November 14 for the Second Annual Minigolf Fundraiser. Parents with children and adults of all ages can putt their way through the stacks and down the stairs to help support this fundraiser for Carlsbad's library and arts facilities and programs. This year, the event will feature a children's activity area, which will include face painting, balloons and clowns to entertain. The library will feature a live Zydeco band. Everyone can dance to the music of Bill and the Swamp Critters. A silent auction will be held, and food and beverages will also be on sale. Come on over and enjoy a great time for the whole family and support your library and arts.
The event is November 14, 2010 and runs from 10a.m. – 5p.m. with the band playing from noon – 3p.m. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children for golf only. Express Employment Professionals helps record number of unemployed find work
Express Employment Professionals (Express) recently reported a weekly sales record of $39.1 million for its North American operations. The company's previous sales volume record, $37.9 million, was set this same year. In North America, Express has set a new sales record five times in 2010.
Since the beginning of 2010, Express franchise offices have helped more than 205,929 people find jobs. During the second and third quarter, 14,773 unemployed people found work through Express.
Express reported sales for the past 12 weeks have increased 60 percent compared with the same 12-week period in 2009.Overall, year-to-date sales are up 45 percent.
Express also reported an increase of 33 percent in sales in its west zone, comprised of New Mexico, Arizona, California, Nevada, Utah, Colorado, Wyoming, Idaho, Oregon, Washington, Montana, Hawaii and Alaska. The west zone also includes British Columbia, Alberta and Saskatchewan.
Express' strongest sales activity is traditionally in the fourth quarter. The staffing company projects an estimated $1.7 billion in sales by year end, which is an increase compared to 2009. The sales projection is 8.3 percent greater than the company's previous highest year in 2007.
“In North County San Diego, we're seeing an increase of 61 percent in sales year to date,” said Darrell Olps, franchise owner. “Since the beginning of 2010, the Oceanside and San Marcos Express offices have helped close to 500 people find jobs.”

Tri-City Medical Center's Wellness Center in Carlsbad is the best gym in San Diego County, according to viewers of local TV station 10News. This is the second year in a row the state-of-the-art fitness and health center has topped the 10News.com's A-List Awards – an impressive distinction considering the facility is just two years old. More than 95,000 San Diegans cast votes in the contest.
The Wellness Center offers the only health and fitness experience of its kind in the region. A 58,000 square foot, fully integrated health and fitness campus sets the stage for a comprehensive, medically integrated environment focused on club members' total well-being, ranging from day-to-day health maintenance to sports performance training to cardiac and physical rehabilitation.
The gym offers a variety of standard fitness and wellness programs as well as medically integrated programming. It features state-of-the-art fitness equipment and employs only degreed and certified fitness specialists, dietitians and health educators.
AutoClaims Direct named 16th Fastest-Growing Private Company
National and local accolades continue to grow for Carlsbad-based AutoClaims Direct. The firm was named by the San Diego Business Journal as the 16th Fastest-Growing Private Company in San Diego County.
According to audited financial statements, AutoClaims Direct's revenue has grown more than 142.69 percent from 2007 to 2009. Just last month, AutoClaims Direct was also named to Inc. Magazine's list of Fastest-Growing Private Companies in America for the second consecutive year with a four-year growth rate of 306%.

LEGOLAND? California's Halloween celebration introduces Brick-or-Treat Party Nights with a new interactive musical “Mail Order Monsters,” a second Brick-or-Treat Trail in a new location, and an animated light show in Castle Hill
Every Saturday in October from 5 to 9 p.m. the family theme park is transformed into a not-too-spooky Halloween haven featuring costume contests, dance contests, a pumpkin patch event, howling contests, nighttime trick-or-treating on one of two Brick-or-Treat Trails, live music and entertainment.
During the day every Saturday and Sunday in October revelers 12 and under trick-or-treat on the Park's exclusive Brick-or-Treat Trail, where they gather goodies including delicious treats, trading cards and other surprises. Guests can also enjoy the new musical “Mail Order Monsters” and pose with a giant LEGO? jack-o-lantern which is more than 7 feet wide, is made of 22,000 DUPLO? bricks and weighs 850 pounds.
