The Carlsbad Business Journal was awarded first place award for Outstanding Publication at the Western Association of Chamber Executives annual conference held in February.
The Carlsbad Business Journal competed with publications from chambers all over the 14 Western United States. Judges assessed the CBJ in 10 particular areas, including overall design, editorial content, and production. The CBJ notably scored very high in the areas of editorial style and general design. The judges called the CBJ's design “clean, attractive and easy to follow” and its editorial content “excellent.”
Judges agreed that the CBJ clearly articulated activities that create a strong local community while promoting the community, and noted that the publication generously covered local networking and political action opportunities. “It's all here! Congratulations,” commented the judges.
“This award is just one more way the Carlsbad Chamber is pursuing and achieving greatness for 2011,” said Chamber CEO Ted Owen.
The Carlsbad Business Journal is produced by the staff of the Carlsbad Chamber of Commerce. In last year's competition, The CBJ was awarded second place.
