Callaway announces stock repurchase program
Callaway Golf Company's board of directors has authorized the company to repurchase up to $100 million of its common stock in open market and private transactions.
The company plans to assess market conditions and buying opportunities from time to time to make strategic purchases as appropriate. The repurchase program will remain in effect until complete or terminated by the board.
Last June, Callaway announced the implementation of a $100 million stock repurchase program. As of Nov. 29, the company had repurchased approximately 5.27 million shares for a total of $88.9 million under that program. The remainder of that program has been cancelled and is superseded by the new repurchase program.

Bohrer named director of land development

Blood bank donor wins 2008 Honda
San Diego resident Theresa Somers drew the winning key that started the 2008 Honda CR-V at the Chargers Blood Drive in November.
Somers walked to the event in Mission Valley because her current car was unreliable. About 5,000 people turned out for the 29th annual Chargers Blood Drive, helping the San Diego Blood Bank collect 1,944 pints of blood for local hospital patients.

Cancer society seeks volunteers
The American Cancer Society is seeking volunteers for its 25th annual Daffodil Days Campaign.
Volunteers are needed to take orders at their work sites for the bright yellow flowers from now through Feb. 27. Deliveries are scheduled for the week of March 17-22.
