The Carlsbad Educational Foundation
has announced the appointment of Michelle J. Ginn as its new CEO. She succeeds Valin Brown, who left CEF at the end of November after seven years. Ginn has been a member of the CEF board of directors for the past three years, serving most recently as vice chair of the board's executive committee. She also has played a pivotal role on the board's strategic planning and fundraising advisory committees.
"CEF is eager to start its next big chapter with Michelle at the helm," said Pat Hurley, chair of the Carlsbad Educational Foundation board of directors. "Along with her obvious business acumen, Michelle's extensive ties and deep commitment to the Carlsbad community as an involved parent and educational advocate will serve CEF well as we implement a new three-year strategic plan to increase our support of the more than 11,000 students in the Carlsbad Unified School District."
After a 15-year distinguished career with the Fountain Division of Coca-Cola North America, Ginn became the managing partner a land development company. Immediately prior to joining CEF, Ginn was Director of Business Development for a Carlsbad-based software company.
