Cal State San Marcos Extended Studies is offering several programs in its fall lineup created especially for new managers and seasoned supervisors committed to improving their leadership skills.

The classes will be held on the Cal State San Marcos campus, unless otherwise noted. Courses include:

'Leadership: The New Management Reality',a three-session program designed to help managers lead their departments and organizations given a fluctuating workforce. The class meets from 8:30 am – noon on Wednesdays, October 4, 18 and November 1 in Room 104 of the Foundation Classroom Building. The registration fee is $399.

'Professional Communication Skills' combines two half-day workshops designed to hone individuals' written communications and further their success. Both workshops will meet from 8:30 – noon on Wednesdays October 11 and 18 at the City of Carlsbad Training Facility located at 1635 Faraday Avenue in Carlsbad. The fee is $125 per workshop or $225 for both

'Supervising Employees Certificate' is an eight-week program that provides new or soon-to-be promoted supervisors and managers with a solid foundation in the essentials of supervising employees. The program is presented in workshops that meet from 8:30 a.m. – noon on Tuesdays, September 12 through October 31 in Room 104 of the Foundation Classroom Building. The fee for each is $125 and participants can register for the full certificate for $899.

'Advanced Supervising Employees Certificate'extends the successful 'Supervising Employees Certificate' with training in additional skill sets that every successful supervisor or manager should have. The program is presented in workshops that meet from 8:30 a.m. – noon on Thursdays, September 14 through November 16 in Room 104 of the Foundation Classroom Building. The fee for each varies, but participants can register for the full certificate for $1,100.
