Cami Mattson celebrates 20 years with North San Diego Convention and Visitors Bureau
Cami Mattson, president and chief executive officer of the North San Diego Convention and Visitors Bureau, is celebrating her 20 year anniversary with the organization. During Mattson's tenure at the Bureau, she has transformed what was once the Escondido Visitors & Information Bureau from a single-city organization to the San Diego North regional bureau, adding private-sector membership in 1989, a sales department in 1996, a regional brand campaign in 2000, and funding from eight incorporated cities and the County of San Diego by 2003.
Mattson, who joined the Bureau in 1985 as a marketing representative, has served as the president and chief executive officer for 16 years. As CEO, Mattson has nearly quadrupled the Bureau's budget from $305,000 to $1.1 million today.
Mattson serves on the board of directors for the San Diego County Hotel Motel Association, the International Association of Convention & Visitors Bureaus, and the
California Travel Industry Association. She also serves on the foundation board of the Western Association of Convention & Visitors Bureaus (WACVB). She recently completed nine consecutive years serving on the board of WACVB, including serving as its president.
