Celebrating their 2nd Anniversary, Carlsbad Wine Merchants (CWM) announced the opening of its new wine tasting room, tasting room menu and espresso bar.
Located at the Islands@Carlsbad shopping center, CWM expanded its offering of fine wines to include a proprietary blend of Carlsbad Red ,Zinfandel and a new espresso bar featuring "illy" espresso and coffee. The espresso bar, located in their expanded tasting room, will feature specialty coffee drinks such as lattes, cappuccinos and macchiatos. The "illy" brand is one of the most prestigious in Italy and is well-known by world travelers.
To celebrate their second year in business and show appreciation for the support they received from the Carlsbad community, CWM launched a new wine called
Carlsbad Red. Inspired by the spirit of Carlsbad's lifestyle which includes barbeques, good friends, and a well-integrated balance of age and youth, CWM selected this unique cuvee as an expression of the rich tapestry of tastes, color and soft structure that epitomizes life in Carlsbad. Everything from the label, a colorful abstract from a local artist, to the bouquet of flavors, the senses are seduced by an expression of color and scents that meld Carlsbad's warm and friendly outdoor living with sunsets and flower fields.
"The response from the community these last two years has been very heartwarming," said Kathy Bankard, owner of CWN. "Our team will continue to search the world and continue to add to the Carlsbad experience the best the world has to offer."
By combining excellent customer service with a supply of the best wines, giftware and coffee at low prices, Bankerd said she has found a simple recipe for success.
Allowing customers to taste before they purchase wine in a relaxed and warm atmosphere, CWM's knowledgeable wine professionals provide assistance in selecting the right wines for every occasion and food pairing. The newly expanded tasting room offers samples of a variety of individual wines and wine flights, which is a small sampling of three different wines. In addition to the new wine flights, CWM continues to host weekly themed tasting events.
At CWM, there is a great selection of products to that compliment wine, including cigars, fresh international cheeses and decorative giftware from around the world. They also provide custom-made baskets for corporate and individual gifts and a wine-of-the-month club aptly titled, CWM's Old Vine Wine Club. The club offers three different wine-of-the-month options, providing members access to excellent wine at value prices. These wines are hand-selected by CWM's tasting team especially for club members.
