The Carlsbad Chamber of Commerce has recently added to their staff by hiring a Creative Art Director, Edgar Rodriguez.

Rodriguez, a former Today's Local News lead graphic designer, is a graduate of Platt College and began his work as a graphic designer in 2004. His brief employment with the Chamber has already resulted in several exciting new changes including the complete redesign of the Chamber's Carlsbad Business Journal, an award winning 24-page publication overseen by Publisher and Chamber President, Ted Owen and Editor and Director of Communications, Misti Cain.

In his role at the Chamber, Rodriguez will be responsible for the monthly layout of the Journal as well as flyers, brochures and a multitude of other collateral for the Chamber's various projects. He will also begin the process of branding the Chamber, uniformly designing or redesigning all materials that the Chamber sends out or uses in their daily communications efforts.

"I feel honored to be a part of this enthusiastic chamber team. There is nothing more fulfilling than working with a great group of professionals and doing what I love at the same time."

Rodriguez is an avid sports fan who served four years in the U.S. Army as a Fire Direction Specialist and Paratrooper in the 82nd Airborne Division. He enjoys watching movies, listening to music, swimming, bike riding and going to parks with his family. He currently resides in Oceanside with his wife, Rosa Maria and two children Eddie and Carissa.
