The Carlsbad Chamber of Commerce honored its phenomenal volunteers at its annual First Friday Breakfast Volunteer Recognition Program Dec. 4.
The celebration took place at the Sheraton Carlsbad Resort & Spa. Numerous awards were given out to thank the many volunteers who help the chamber throughout the year.
“Our chamber is the 10th largest in the state and second largest in the county of San Diego. Simply put, the most compelling reason for those standings is our corps of volunteers,” said Ted Owen, president and CEO of the chamber. “The volunteers are the soul of this successful organization. It is the platoons of steadfast and loyal volunteers that push the reputation and viability of our chamber to the heights we have attained.”
The following people were named Committee Member of the Year for their respective committees:
• Ambassador Committee, Matt Leonard of Edward Jones.
• Armed Services Committee, Natalie Renner of Guaranty Bank.
• Business Resource Committee, Deb Beddoe of Deb Beddoe Consulting.
• Education Committee, Chris Ross of Sylvan Learning Center of Encinitas.
• Government Affairs Committee, Kevin Sharrar of Realtor Tracy Sharrar.
• Sustainability Committee, Barbara Hamilton of Eco-Stream.
• Technology Advisory Committee, Bill Maynard of TechCon Services.
