The Carlsbad Chamber of Commerce is putting North County back to work.
The chamber is hosting a Job Fair & Business Expo from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Nov. 12. in the old Robinson's May building at Westfield, 2525 El Camino Real, Carlsbad. Admission is free for attendees.
“We anticipate the fair will feature more than 100 employers that are actively hiring,” said Toni Padron, executive vice president and COO of the chamber. “We're doing this event so people who have been laid off and are in transition can find out what their options are.”
The regional job fair will include employers from all over North County. Local community colleges, training and vocational schools, hospitals, casinos, biotech companies, public agencies and all of the other chambers in North County have been invited to participate.
All of the area's major industries, like hospitality and golf, will be represented. Career services, including interview techniques and resume reviews, will be offered.
The expo will showcase the area's best businesses. Past expos have attracted more than 100 exhibitors from a wide variety of industries and drawn more than 1,000 attendees from throughout the county.
Carlsbad Chamber members who register and pay by Oct. 7 will receive an early bird price of $300. After Oct. 7, the booth price for members is $350. The prospective member price is $495. Electricity is an additional $50. Exhibitors must register no later than Oct. 29.
The event is presented by Westfield; the other sponsors include the North County Times and the San Diego Business Journal.
