Put your business on course by speeding to the Carlsbad Chamber of Commerce Annual Business Awards Dinner Feb. 26.
The Nascar-themed event will take place at the Four Seasons Resort Aviara, 7100 Four Seasons Point, Carlsbad. The chamber is pursuing nominations in the following eight categories:
• Businessperson of the Year
• Small Business of the Year (1-15 employees)
• Medium Business of the Year (16-99 employees)
• Large Business of the Year (100 or more employees)
• Lifetime Achievement in Business
• Entrepreneur of the Year
• Community Leadership
• Environmental Excellence
The deadline to submit nominations is Dec. 14. This premiere event recognizes the accomplishments of Carlsbad's business and community leaders whose vision has shaped the city and set the stage for years of continued prosperity.
Last year's winners include Brett Hanley of SeaShell Awnings USA Inc., Greg Lucier of Life Technologies Corp., Jim Smith of Jim Smith Realty, Former Carlsbad City Council Member Julie Nygaard, AKT LLP, E-World Recyclers and LEGOLAND California. In an effort to promote sustainability, the chamber also gave a Green Technology Advocate Award to Aptera Motors and an Environmental Spirit Award to internationally acclaimed marine life artist Wyland.
“Businesses are the driving force of our area's economy and we want to applaud the individuals and companies that have worked hard to keep our region on track during these difficult times,” said Toni Padron, the chamber's executive vice president and COO.
More than 500 people, including prominent and high-profile business leaders, elected officials and community members, will attend the awards dinner.
The event will honor the achievements of the chamber's 2009 board of directors, inaugurate the 2010 leadership team and fire up attendees to race for success. The evening also will feature a cocktail reception, fantastic entertainment, culinary delights at a world renowned resort, complimentary valet parking and more.
