Join the Carlsbad Chamber of Commerce for its third annual Eco Bus Tour and see what some of the area's leaders in sustainability are doing to go or stay green.
The Eco Bus Tour will be from 7:30 a.m. to noon on Tuesday, Nov. 8.
Stops along the tour this year include a tour of the future site of the Poseidon Resources desalination plant, Life Technologies, one of the first companies to complete the Chamber's green certification program, and the Encina Wastewater Authority.
The tour will offer insight into how companies decide on sustainability goals, how they discern areas to improve with green technology or recycling measures, and how their bottom lines are affected by their efforts. Many of these companies started with modest goals for energy conservation and have emerged as leaders in the sustainability movement that is currently thriving in Carlsbad.
If you're the owner of a small or medium-sized business, you're sure to come away with some ideas on how you too can join the green revolution.
The tours take place aboard a bus from the Sun Diego Charter Co., and continental breakfast is included.
There's space for 50 passengers. The cost is $20 for Chamber members and $25 for prospective members.
Reserve your seat by contacting Kathy Steffen at 760-931-8400 or emailing her at [email protected].
