Farrah Douglas, owner of CDS Printing in Carlsbad, was honored Oct. 27 as one of the winners of the San Diego Business Journal Women Who Mean Business Award.
The award recognizes dynamic female business leaders and role models. The recipients are selected for their business achievements, courage in the face of adversity and contributions to San Diego County's nonprofit organizations.
Douglas is vice-chair of the Carlsbad Planning Commission, a past chair and current member of the Carlsbad Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors and is president of 5 Women Who Care International. She also serves on the board for a half dozen other nonprofit organizations.
This year, the San Diego Business Journal celebrated its 16th year of promoting and honoring women through this special award. The journal received 167 nominations from some of the best and most influential women of San Diego County.
“Douglas has worked for 20 years as a community benefactor and leader,” Douglas' award states. “Aside from running CDS printing with her husband and devoting her time and energy to educational causes, she has served the city of Carlsbad as an active and respected business leader. She joined the chamber of commerce in 1991 and has been a role model for the membership and the leadership team.”
Douglas said she is honored to be a recipient of the prestigious award.
“I feel exhilarated and I'm humbled to be recognized among well-deserving and brilliant women of San Diego,” she said.
