Global Community Solutions is committed to the dynamic growth and health of our clients. We provide highly creative strategic social investment solutions for our corporate, nonprofit, public and high net-worth individual clients. Ranging from the creation of corporate citizenship programs for our corporate clients, to helping nonprofit organizations identify new “economic engines” to drive their charitable mission. Working with public institutions to help them develop more responsive community-based solutions to the varied demands of their constituents. Or helping high net-worth individuals structure their philanthropic activities so that they can indeed receive what we call a “charitable return on their investment” (CROI). The ultimate objective of GCS is to encourage ALL of us wherever we might work or live to become more personally engaged in creating and sustaining healthy and productive communities.

What got you into this business? We are seeing the growing interest in other parts of the country and the world especially in Europe, Australia and New Zealand in corporate citizenship and the growing economic impact of the nonprofit community…often referred to as the Third Sector. We saw this as a great market with substantial opportunity for us to become a trendsetting company.
What makes your business a standout? Global corporate citizenship and strategic social investment are still at an early developmental stage. Models of citizenship and community social investment have only recently begun to take shape throughout the US. GCS plays a very important role in linking successful models of strategic social investment to corporate, nonprofit and public environments. We have designed GCS to be global in scope, stimulating new thinking by bringing in perspectives from around the world that are relevant to the local context. Drawbacks to your line of business: Many companies, nonprofit organizations and public institutions are still stuck in old paradigms and models that need to be revised.
Why is your company headquartered in Carlsbad? Can you imagine a better place?
How do you plan to grow? Thus far our growth has been entirely through word of mouth as we successfully complete client engagements. Toughest career decision: Deciding to step out on our own and launch GCS.
Ongoing challenges: Paying attention to the need to keep the “client pipeline” full while focusing our prime attention on fulfilling our present client’s expectations to the best of our abilities.
Best way to stay competitive: Read, study, and innovate and always trying to exceed client expectations in the deliverables that we provide. In five years, where would you like your business to be? A much firmer place in the corporate citizenship arena both in the US and internationally.
What does your company contribute to the Carlsbad community? We are VERY proud to be based in Carlsbad and to be citizens of this community. We strongly believe that there is a community-based solution for each community-based problem…we may not be able to personally engage in every issue but we want to be part of building our community. What are your guiding principles?
