The newly remodeled Hacienda de Vega Restaurant is a sister site to the popular Hacienda de Vega, which opened in Escondido in 2003.
It specializes in gourmet Mexican cuisine and features an indoor, cobblestone courtyard complete with fountains, an 18-foot tree, wipe-glazed walls and original talavera tiles along with a myriad of imported treasures that evoke images of a simpler way of life and provide a window into Mexican family traditions.
"We've really made it a point to keep every aspect of the restaurant as true as possible to the real thing. Mexico is incredibly rich in customs, flavors and textures" said Coco Vega, the restaurant's special event's director.
