If you're thinking there is no way to top the nation's largest and most successful one-day street faire, think again. On May 7 the Carlsbad Chamber presented their 32nd annual Spring Village Street Faire. That same day over 700 vendors turned in their speedy renewals, early registration forms for repeat vendors, to ensure their spot at the upcoming Fall Village Street Faire.
An even larger number of inquiries from hopeful merchants looking to reserve a booth for the first time at either the fall or next spring's faires were fielded by Chamber staff and crew members from Kennedy and Associates. Kennedy and Associates is the event company responsible for helping to organize and coordinate the Chamber street faires.
"I see this as an awesome opportunity to reach tens of thousands of people in one day," said Lana Davidson, a prospective street faire vendor. "I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I can even get in next spring. I've got friends who only sell at two street faires a year, this one and the one in the fall."
Davidson is not the only one who is astounded by the overwhelming success of this event. Several merchants, buyers and even tourists marveled at the huge turnout, diverse products and positive vibe that made up the Spring Village Faire. Food; entertainment; open shops, bars and restaurants; hordes of people and some animals too took over the normally relaxed streets of downtown Carlsbad. Anyone lucky enough to be in the vicinity received an eye, mouth and armful of sights and smells. Not to mention the vast array of products for sale.
